Field Trips
Take a field trip to our Museum where your students will discover amazing local history. Field trips are customized to supplement your classroom learning and align with TEKS by grade level. The Museum’s education director plans field trips. Docents lead field trips using examples from history for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making. Field trips are FREE for Harrison County schools and homeschool students. Each student goes home with a free Museum admission ticket for their family.
To book a field trip or ask questions contact us at 903-935-8417 Ext. 1 or contact our education director at edu@harrisoncountymuseum.org
Summer History Day Camp
Campers in our summer day camp have a fun week learning about history and their community. The curriculum for this one-half day camp is prepared by a classroom teacher. Professional educators serve as teachers for the camp.
Teacher Workshop
Classroom and homeschool teachers have fun at our fast-paced workshop led by our education director. They experience a Museum field trip learning how the Museum can help educators meet the TEKS requirements. Make-and-take activities give teachers new ideas to use for pre- and post-visit activities in the classroom. Teacher workshops are free and held annually.
