These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Harrison County Historical Museum website and your interactions with certain online services provided by Harrison County Historical Museum (“HCHM,” “Museum,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using our website, submitting information through our forms, registering for Museum programs or events, purchasing tickets or merchandise, or using other services offered through the website, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
SMS Messaging Terms & Conditions
1. Program Description
Harrison County Historical Museum offers SMS text messaging to individuals who have expressly opted in to receive such communications.
Depending upon the consent you provide, messages may include:
- Museum event announcements and reminders
- Event registration and ticketing information
- Membership information and reminders
- Museum news and program updates
- Exhibit and educational program information
- Volunteer opportunities and communications
- Fundraising campaigns and donation opportunities
- Special announcements
- Transactional and customer support communications

Message frequency varies.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of making a donation, purchasing a ticket or product, becoming a Museum member, or otherwise doing business with Harrison County Historical Museum.
Where required, SMS consent is collected separately through forms or other opt-in mechanisms that clearly disclose the nature of the messaging program.
2. SMS Consent
By providing your mobile telephone number and expressly opting in to SMS communications, you authorize Harrison County Historical Museum to send text messages to the number provided.

Your consent applies only to the categories of messages described at the time you opt in.
You may withdraw your consent at any time.
3. Cancellation and Opt-Out Instructions
You may cancel SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a message from Harrison County Historical Museum.
After you send STOP, you may receive a final SMS confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that confirmation, you will no longer receive messages from that SMS program unless you subsequently opt in again.

7. Carrier Liability
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Delivery of SMS messages is subject to effective transmission by your wireless carrier and is outside the complete control of Harrison County Historical Museum.
8. Supported Carriers
The SMS program is intended to operate with major United States wireless carriers and many regional carriers.
Availability and delivery may vary depending upon your carrier, device, location, and service plan.
9. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to participate in the Museum’s SMS messaging program.
By opting in, you represent that you are authorized to use the mobile telephone number you provide.
10. Privacy and SMS Data
Your privacy is important to Harrison County Historical Museum.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Information may be shared with service providers and subcontractors when necessary to provide supporting services, including telecommunications providers, messaging platforms, and customer service providers.
All categories of information sharing described in our Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. SMS opt-in information and consent will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Submission of materials does not automatically transfer ownership to Harrison County Historical Museum.
Where the Museum wishes to reproduce, publish, archive, display, or otherwise use submitted historical materials beyond purposes reasonably associated with the submission, additional permissions or agreements may be requested when appropriate.
Memberships, Donations & Fundraising
14. Donations
Donations made to Harrison County Historical Museum are voluntary contributions intended to support the Museum’s mission, programs, preservation activities, collections, educational initiatives, facilities, events, and other charitable purposes.
Where a donation is designated for a particular campaign, program, or purpose, the Museum will endeavor to use the contribution accordingly, subject to applicable law and any terms associated with the campaign.
Donors are responsible for consulting their own tax or financial advisers regarding the deductibility or tax treatment of contributions.
Receipts or acknowledgments may be provided for qualifying donations.
15. Memberships
Museum memberships may provide benefits described at the time of enrollment.
Membership benefits, eligibility, pricing, renewal periods, and other conditions may vary and may be updated from time to time.
Unless otherwise stated, Museum membership does not represent ownership, equity, or a financial interest in Harrison County Historical Museum.
Events, Programs & Tickets

The Museum may offer tickets or registrations for exhibits, lectures, educational programs, fundraising events, social gatherings, tours, and other activities.
Event details, including dates, times, locations, availability, admission requirements, pricing, and refund policies, may vary by event.
The Museum reserves the right to:

- Modify event schedules when reasonably necessary
- Reschedule or cancel events
- Establish event-specific rules or requirements
Any event-specific cancellation or refund policy presented at the time of purchase or registration will apply to that transaction.
17. Photography at Museum Events
Photography, video recording, or other media may be captured at certain Museum events and programs.
Where appropriate, the Museum may provide notice that photography or recording is taking place. Such media may be used to document and promote Museum programs, events, educational activities, and the Museum’s mission.
